There are those heralds of summer. A first glimpse of a blazing Moodjar tree in bloom, vibrant orange, almost aflame. Oven door days as I’ve come to call them, when temperatures first hit high 30s; a heat that at once assaults and envelops as you step into it. And then there are the first of the local stone fruits, and a very particular peach.
